You can't have Schoolies with out the Toolies!

So here is a Schoolies inspired logo for them, using the very popular Schoolies logo (for the last few years) with the use of the Slant font (www.dafont.com/slant.font).

Australian high school leavers or graduates who complete their high school studies (High School Seniors), depart school after finishing their exams an go have a party at the end of their high school years and celebrate as a group that travels (mostly) somewhere in Australia. I has been traditionally a Gold Coast - Surfers Paradise based thing where everyone parties, get drunk, spaced out, goes wild and gets totally wasted and have random wild sex.

It's has been seen as an Australian version of the United States of Spring Break in Cancún, Mexico (Just not as big - actually pretty small compared to what Spring Break is)

This has been seen as a right of passage for many Australian senior high school leavers.

It attracts a lot of attention from the media, as it's common to see young or underage drinkers, pass out, or get in to fights mostly with older blokes who are keen to get some attention from a lot of young high school girls, who are happy to pay attention to slightly older and fitter blokes who have more money then the boys who are just out of high school.

These older blokes (ones who have already left high school, and or want to return to enjoy and try their luck again) have been named Toolies, as they have been known to get in and amongst it and cause issues, acting like idiots (Tools - Australian slag for someone who carries on like an idiot) and causing fights with school leavers.

The Toolies name may of been comprised of the Australian slag word Tool - an idiot, and from the old saying of "throwing a spanner in the works"

There are those that leave school early, for what ever reason, some to get a trade (most don't graduate - unless they move on to Government welfare). These early school leavers are usually not invited or eligible to go to Schoolies, but more often than not, they will find a way if they are keen.

In the early 2000's it started to become more organized rather than just rock up and go out to pubs and clubs, now it's a fenced off area of the beach and has special guest DJ's and dance parties.

There is a lot of rivalry between states, as it's held on the Gold Coast in QLD, Queenslander Schoolies have been know to pick fights with other states Schoolies, as they believe it's their turf that they are parting on and shouldn't be there? Different states arrive at different times over the 3 week event. Some QLD Schoolies continue to try and stay for the whole event.

In the mid 2000's other destinations for Schoolies have been seen as the place to party, as the Gold Coast has lost it's shine over the years. More school leavers are opting for overseas such as Thailand or Bali and other tropical Asian destinations that offer a lot more for usually a lot less money. But with this comes with the danger of being a drunk young foreigner in a different country, with a different culture, rules and laws that can be used against young naive travelers who aren't really street smart at that age and don't have any grasp or understanding of the native language spoken.
